there is only the ocean.
no matter how eloquently dressed
you could have been,
you could not have been more wrong.
the sea bed bears the weight
of 21st century lifestyles
and the shipwrecks of existences
sleep content below the surface.
in the ocean, i said,
there are centuries of distress.

ahhhh yes it's all coming back now. that song makes no sense as i have never heard a brass band play anything that sounds remotely like tiddly-om-pom-pom.
